Wood is the basic gift of nature that is found everywhere. But what makes it look attractive is the “Karigari” done on it. The craftsmanship on the wooden handicrafts makes popular not just in one town; but in the world over. In fact, wooden handicrafts have given a new meaning and style to home decoration. The present scenario is such that people like their furniture to be really classic and unique. Some have taste for contemporary style; while others have theme based or ideas pertaining to ethnicity.

The wooden handicraft, initially, started in the form of utensils in pre-historic times. From that time to now, this form of art has been undergoing continuous changes. It is because of the influence of various dynasties that wooden handicraft form has been adapting itself to the changing demands. From utensils, it developed into designer tables, chairs, jewelry boxes, show piece, beds, temples, almirahs, cabinets and sofa sets. These shapes of wooden handicrafts are meant to add glitter to a place’s interior decoration.
