Playing with the delicacy of paper and making something really innovative out of it is the art of paper mache. In this handicraft form, the artisans cut papers into various shapes and sizes, paint them with bright colors and mold or twist them to make awesome looking art pieces. Sometimes, the colorful papers are pasted on hard bases, such as wood. These papers, generally, have paintings of natural elements, sceneries or some traditional customary practice. This gives the art form of paper mache so much consideration. The present day artisans mix some amount of starch in the paper pulp and create the required thickness that discards the need for hard base. From such paper art, one can get lamp shades, wall hangings, boxes, photo frames and dolls.
